I’m sure everyone has seen this by now but AthFest has been cancelled due to high community spread numbers. The fact that COVID continues to devastate our lives and communities, especially those of musicians, is a lot to face up to. I want to say we will all come back stronger, but particularly in Athens, the harsh reality is that that simply is not true. The longer this goes on, the more lasting impacts our music communities endure. Venues around the country have closed, musicians have pivoted to different careers out of necessity. The inability of all these fuck faces refusing to act with just the smallest bit of compassion is…I’m not sure a word even exists. Evil? Fuck COVID, fuck evil, tell your friends you love them.
