Losing hurts for a day, but knowing you held back haunts you for years. 💯🔥

Some days you’ll give everything you have and still fall short. You’ll study and still miss the grade. Train and still lose. Work late and still not get the result you wanted.

That’s life. Results depend on timing, luck and a hundred things outside your control. Effort is the one thing that’s always yours.

The real failure isn’t falling short. It’s knowing you held back. Regret doesn’t come from losing after giving your best. It comes from wondering what would’ve happened if you had.

And effort is never wasted. Every time you give everything, you get stronger, sharper and closer, even when the scoreboard doesn’t show it yet.

Every loss you give everything to is a down payment on the win that’s coming.

The older I get, the more I wish I didn’t live so far away from her—which, ironically, is not how I felt in my teens 😂 Now we live on nearly opposite sides of the world, and all I can do is cherish the limited time we get together and hope for many, many, MANY more moments with my mama.

Happy birthday to my Asian mom ♥️
