Awkward adolescence…
You know those school pictures from a certain phase of growing up that make everyone laugh when your mom pulls out the photo album? You weren’t a kid anymore, but you weren’t an adult yet either- you were stuck somewhere between.
I think most art follows a similar progression. There’s almost always an awkward middle phase- it’s just part of the deal. That’s where this piece is at. I don’t hate it, but it’s certainly not done either. I’ve got more questions than answers. It’s times like this I have to remind myself that there’s a fully formed work waiting for me as long as I keep showing up and making marks.
