What an honour to attend the Emmys last night! Our baby, our Nat Geo show Superskilled was nominated in 4 separate categories ✨And although we came out without a trophy this time, I’m so thrilled with this achievement and so proud of our incredible team. None of this would have been possible without the talented people who put their hearts and souls into Superskilled. From all our local contributors and characters to our core crew and the wonderful folks at Nat Geo HQ. You are changing the world for the better and these nominations are all YOUR achievement ❤️ A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has worked on this show over the last 2 years. @aiman.s.ahmed @claudiawantstosee @joshmonie @_amywarren @danbairdsurvival @livgwynn @natgeo (+ Tom, Charlie, Betsy, Cole, LeAnne, Rooj, Tommesha, Zach, Viv, Anna, Melanie, Tulani, Glenn, Chanée, Ryan, Rex, Yari and more!) Around the waterhole, the orphans peek into their future. Every elephant see here is an orphan. The smaller ones are part of our dependent herd, and their towering friend is Challa, a 22-year-old rescued, raised, and rewilded through our Orphans’ Project. Zoom out, and that future gets even greater. Waiting in the wings are entirely wild bulls — who even tower above Challa! They’re generously giving the youngsters space to drink, after the Keepers requested them to move off with a whistle and a wave. In the fullness of time, every small orphan you see here will join their ranks, reclaiming their place in the wilds of Tsavo. — Every day, these remarkable interactions unfold at our three Reintegration Units, where our dependent orphans learn how to live as wild elephants.
