The irony is hard to miss. Some of these self-proclaimed progressive voices have no hesitation in mocking Diwali, Karva Chauth, Chhath Puja and Dussehra in the name of modernity, yet enthusiastically celebrate Halloween without even understanding its cultural and historical significance. You don’t have to follow every Indian tradition, but constantly belittling your own culture while glorifying foreign trends raises a genuine question: is this progressiveness or selective cultural acceptance? #fypppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp #hindus #halloween #fypppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp #explorepage✨
When you think about it, it actually makes sense. Mark Tilbury breaks down how a $100 game can actually save you money. Play it for 200 hours, and you’re spending just 50 cents per hour. If you stay home gaming instead of going out and spending $100 a night, you could save nearly $5,000 over 50 nights. Of course, that only works if you were planning to go out in the first place.

Class is in session for A History of Design. Lesson two: the Georgians 🏛️ Strap yourselves into your corsets, because we’re heading back to 1714–1830 to explore the era of symmetry, proportion, sash windows and fireplaces that refuse to be overlooked. From grand Georgian architecture and floor-to-ceiling panelling to the early influence of Thomas Chippendale, dado rails (which, FYI, had rather practical origins) and those deliciously moody historic paint colours. All of which goes some way to explaining why Georgian interiors feel so effortlessly right. And yes, this is a LONG one. We’re going long-form, baby. Ever heard of it?! 😜 I jest, but I do worry about what all these short and snappy reels are doing to our attention spans, so here’s a healthy 2 minutes and 30 seconds of interior design nerdiness. You’re welcome. Give me a 🏛️ in the comments if you made it to the end, and thank you again, for indulging me in a little history lesson. Next lesson: arches. Class dismissed. When Obama was casting his ballot for the 2014 midterm elections, a man jokingly told the president not to touch his girlfriend, who was voting next to him. Obama handled the situation with grace, playfully giving the woman a kiss goodbye and telling her boyfriend, "now you're really jealous." #Obama #BarackObama #Vote #Rewind
