My 4 principles of having a successful business meeting

Being a board member of the company, I attend a lot of business meetings and I learned that preparation is essential for them to be successful.

These are the recommendations I came up with for those willing to get a good impression and the outcome of the business meeting.

▪️Prepare the most important things that need to be said

Review and study the agenda. Keep the most important things in your head and write down notes.

▪️Do your research to make sure you are up to date

Define the current focus and key challenges. I always research in the Wallstreet journal and online.

▪️Ask and listen first and offer your input

Ask another person what their plan is before offering your input. It might help you to get an idea of what works best for all of you.

▪️Be humble

Do not dominate the conversation. You might think you know everything and it’s the first way to turn people off and to kill a relationship.
