5 years agowhooty woo! brilliant #climateaction - we appreciate your hard work sad that the sup #gordonCAR is robbing the entire bay area of a local, vibrant, safe, clean, healthy famous surf beach culture & keeps catering to #1 killer of american children. STOP talking about car use. START planning to restore #oceanbeach for the children. #gonative - YES, it is a life or death matter.
5 years agoNah. This would be bad form. I fear for the residents (and their children) who live along the GH and recreate DAILY in the area you speak of. Our friends and neighbors who live on the lower Great highway, La playa, 48th to 45th Avenues are all incensed by the lack of recognition in closing the upper GH has made to the livelihood of their community. It saddens me to know so many are ignoring this fact just to benefit themselves 😢
5 years agoI really wish the organizers and supporters of this would redirect their energy and resources to real issues. Great Highway literally extends to touch the largest city park in the United States and is situated alongside a huge, expansive beach. There is no shortage of open spaces in this part of the city. 18,000 cars use Great Highway daily. Where is that traffic going to be redirected? Into the avenues. Let’s keep the traffic out of the neighborhood and on the Highway where it belongs.
5 years ago🙌 Thank you for your work to make this treasure a permanent park for the whole city! My kids and I thank you 🙏🏼
5 years agoClosing the great highway to cars is endangering all the kids in the sunset! 45th and 46th avenue kids can barely play out front on weekends due to all the traffic. A car nearly killed our 6 year old neighbor last week. Please open the great highway!! Or send every car with a non-sunset-destination to sunset boulevard.
