عادل فردوسی‌پور از شخصیت متفاوت حمید علیدوستی گفت؛ چهره‌ای محبوب و فراتر از رنگ‌های فوتبالی عادل فردوسی‌پور در واکنش به درگذشت حمید علیدوستی، پیشکسوت فوتبال ایران و پدر ترانه علیدوستی، از منش اخلاقی و جایگاه ویژه او در میان اهالی فوتبال یاد کرد و از فقدان یکی از چهره‌های خوشنام ورزش ایران سخن گفت. فردوسی‌پور با اشاره به ویژگی‌های شخصیتی علیدوستی، او را از جمله افرادی دانست که حضورشان در فوتبال مایه افتخار بود؛ چهره‌ای نجیب، خوش‌اخلاق، محترم و جنتلمن که به واسطه رفتار و شخصیتش، فارغ از تعلقات رنگی، نزد اهالی فوتبال و مردم محبوبیت داشت. او همچنین به جایگاه متفاوت علیدوستی اشاره کرد؛ پیشکسوتی که با وجود نپوشیدن پیراهن استقلال و پرسپولیس، محبوب هواداران تیم‌های مختلف بود و احترام همگان را به دست آورده بود. مجری و گزارشگر فوتبال ایران در بخش دیگری از صحبت‌هایش، به دانش و علایق فرهنگی این پیشکسوت اشاره کرد و او را شخصیتی فراتر از دنیای ورزش دانست؛ فردی تحصیل‌کرده و کتاب‌خوان که به موسیقی و سینما علاقه داشت و از نظر منش و نگاه فرهنگی، چهره‌ای متمایز در فوتبال ایران به شمار می‌رفت. فردوسی‌پور همچنین با اشاره به تجربه شخصی خود از هم‌صحبتی با حمید علیدوستی، از معاشرت با او ابراز لذت کرد و در پایان، درگذشت این پیشکسوت را به خانواده او و جامعه فوتبال ایران تسلیت گفت.
