Eiji gets shot trying to protect Ash and Ash blames himself for it. So he decides that he won’t see Eiji off at the airport as he leaves to go back to Japan. Ash sits down and opens an envelope from Eiji containing a passport and a letter. As Ash reads through the letter, he realizes he made a mistake and starts running to Eiji. But he is interrupted as Lao runs into him with a knife, stabbing him in the stomach. Ash shoots Lao and drops Eijis letters. He picks them up and as he’s limping into the library, he suddenly starts to think about all the things he and Eiji went through together up until his last breath.
