Exclusive: Michael Ealy Wants Gen Z to Study Muhammad Ali’s “Work Ethic” Instead of Feeling “Entitled to Being an Icon” Blogged by: Draggy Actor Michael Ealy hopes younger viewers watching Muhammad Ali’s story in “The Greatest” come away thinking about the discipline behind his fame, not just the fame itself. In an exclusive interview with Baller Alert, the actor, who portrays Malcolm X in Prime Video’s new drama, explained why Ali’s work ethic should resonate with Gen Z. “Outside of Muhammad’s conviction, you know, I would say the work ethic,” Ealy said when asked what he wants young people to take from the series. He described the sacrifices he believes defined the boxer’s early years. “You’re talking about a man who sacrificed so much, didn’t smoke, didn’t drink, didn’t party, you know, didn’t have a girlfriend.” Ealy was pointing to the intensity of Ali’s commitment, particularly during an era when the young fighter was establishing himself in boxing while becoming a public figure whose influence reached well beyond sports. “Like he was just so focused on training and then being a voice for the nation,” he continued. For Michael Ealy, the message is especially relevant in a social media era when visibility can arrive long before someone has spent years mastering a craft. His comparison places the pursuit of lasting recognition alongside the instant attention available through online platforms. “And so, I hope that the younger generation, Gen Z, will look at that as an example of what it takes to become an icon rather than, you know, feel entitled to being an icon just because you have a platform with 12,000 followers.” The Greatest follows Ali before he became a worldwide symbol of athletic excellence and political conviction. Born Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky, he won Olympic gold in Rome in 1960 and captured his first heavyweight championship by defeating Sonny Liston in 1964. Later that year, he became known as Muhammad Ali.

Since their debut in 2024, TWS have captured the spirit of youth through their signature sound: “Boyhood Pop.” From the excitement of first encounters to the joy of moving forward together, their music has always carried a celebratory energy. But after more than two years in the spotlight, SHINYU, DOHOON, YOUNGJAE, HANJIN, JIHOON and KYUNGMIN are beginning to see the stories of growing up they’ve long told through their music in a different light. Their second single album, 'TO US,' turns its attention to the less polished moments along the way. In conversation with Billboard Korea, the six members reflect on how they’ve changed since debut, what they’ve learned about themselves and one another, and how they hope to expand their musical identity. Read the interview at the link in bio. 📷: Pledis Entertainment
On October 31, a 22-year-old woman, identified as Kajal, allegedly killed her stepfather, Rameshsinh Rajput, following an argument at their home in Surat’s Kosad Awas area. According to reports, the argument began after Ramesh scolded her over not helping with household chores and using her phone. He reportedly took her mobile phone and threw it on the floor. The confrontation then escalated, with Kajal attacking him with a cooker lid and a knife. Ramesh sustained serious injuries and later died. His wife, Manjuben, filed a complaint against her daughter. Kajal was arrested, and the police are investigating the incident. This is not the first time a conflict involving mobile phones has turned deadly in Surat. In 2021, a 17-year-old boy allegedly killed his father after being reprimanded for playing mobile games. In another incident that year, a 16-year-old girl died by suicide after her parents refused to give her back her phone. These were separate incidents, but they raise troubling questions about conflict within families. A phone, a disagreement, a moment of anger — and a family left dealing with an irreversible loss. Disagreements are a part of family life. But when anger takes over, the consequences can go far beyond the argument itself. Are we teaching young people how to deal with anger, rejection and frustration — or only telling them what they should and shouldn’t do? How do we learn to manage conflict before it reaches a point of no return?
