Ash and I having a rather excited moment…
Introducing standing room mag Issue 02, with our cover star @grentperez There is a particular discomfort in growing up: the realisation that the person you are becoming might not have much in common with the person you once were. The things that came naturally begin to require consideration; the freedom of being young gives way to the awareness of how you are perceived. Somewhere between the two, it becomes difficult to tell whether you have outgrown an earlier version of yourself or simply learned to keep it in check. For Grent Perez, that tension has taken on a name. goose, his forthcoming EP, places Grent in conversation with Goose, a younger, more playful alter ego who appears to have little interest in the responsibilities of being an adult. Where Grent is measured by the person he has become, Goose offers a return to the instincts, impulses and irreverence that can get lost along the way. The two are not necessarily at odds because one is right and the other wrong. Rather, their conflict raises a more interesting question: what happens when growing up starts to feel like growing away from yourself? It is an idea that gives goose a life beyond the familiar exercise of an artist reflecting on personal growth. The relationship between Grent and Goose creates room to examine the competing versions of ourselves that coexist, often uneasily, beneath a single name. There is the person we present to the world, the person we believe we ought to be, and the one who still wants to do things simply because they feel good. Maturity might mean learning to live with those differences, rather than deciding which version deserves to survive. Although the couple has not officially confirmed the wedding date, November 6 has been circulating in social media comment sections as the alleged big day. Meanwhile, Tanzanians have already started weighing in on Charlene’s bridal look, with some urging her to consider a Tanzanian fashion designer to make her wedding gown. This comes after her Koito outfit attracted mixed reactions, with some Tanzanian netizens expressing disappointment in her previous look. #Charlene #isayayunge JOIN BNN BASIC https://t.me/bnnkenya/98617
