Happy Halloween! 🎃🩸 What better way to wrap up spooky season than with a return to one of horror’s most iconic stories? For our final digital cover of the month, we’re stepping into the world of #Carrie with Alison Thornton (@ali.g.thornton), who takes on the role of Chris Hargensen in Mike Flanagan’s series adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic debut novel. Reimagining a character previously portrayed by Nancy Allen in the beloved 1976 film, Alison brings a fresh perspective to one of Carrie White’s most notorious bullies. With the new adaptation expanding the story across eight episodes, Thornton explores the troubled teenager behind Chris’s cruelty, finding the humanity in a character audiences love to hate. “So much of what Chris does comes from her home life and her lack of emotional support, and a lot of the conversations with Mike [Flanagan] were just about humanizing her and making sure that she doesn’t just come from a place of cruelty for the sake of cruelty. A lot of her bullying Carrie has nothing to do with Carrie. It all has to do with Chris and what she’s going through, and her lack of healthy coping mechanisms.” Read the full cover feature at Popternative.com. Link in bio. 💪 3,000 PUSH-UPS IN NOVEMBER! I've seen this challenge going around quite a lot lately, so I've decided to give it a go myself! 3,000 push-ups in 30 days! That's 100 every single day. 😳😂 But I wanted to put my own little spin on it and do it for more than just fitness. November is also Movember, a time to raise awareness around men's mental health, so I thought I'd use my platform to help spread a positive message. I'm no mental health expert or mentor, and thankfully, it's not something I personally struggle with. But I do think it's important that men feel comfortable talking when things aren't going so well. As a dad to three boys, I'd hate to think that as they get older, they'd ever feel they had to bottle things up or struggle in silence rather than speak to someone. If you're feeling a bit down, reach out to a mate, family member or someone you trust. Sometimes a simple conversation can make a massive difference. I'm not asking for donations or trying to raise money. I just want to encourage more men to look after themselves, both physically and mentally. I'll be recording my progress throughout November, and hopefully some of you will join me! Now let's see if my arms survive the next 30 days! 😂💪
