![Posted @withregram • @helenr PSA: It’s true that there’s a body-weight limit for the morning-after pill, but THERE IS NO WEIGHT LIMIT FOR MIFEPRISTONE (aka the abortion pill). Regardless of your body size you can safely, effectively terminate an unwanted pregnancy using the abortion pill as described.

Copper IUDs are also an option for emergency contraception!! Where the morning after pill only works if you haven't ovulated, the IUD can both kill sperm before it reaches the ovum and prevent an already fertilized egg from attaching to the uterine walls.

Good info but it's a little confusing to call mifepristone THE abortion pill, it's not usable without misoprostol pills too!

Doula here 👋 just came to say there is actually zero research on effects of plan b over a certain weight, they only say it is ineffective to cover their asses. Sharing this to say we can make informed decisions and take educated risks with our beautiful fat bodies. If taking plan b, I personally would choose to double up. I've yet to hear of any side effects to doubling up, though I will say pre-plan b those who can get pregnant would double up on birth control and the worst side effects I've heard of has been vomiting.
