We’re not ready to wish autumn away, but we are dreaming of days like these again 🥹 Ruka in Finnish Lapland is already on our minds, with snowy forests, frozen lakes and endless white landscapes that make winter here feel so special. 📍 Snowy scenery – Once winter arrives, the forests and fells around Ruka are covered in snow, making it just as beautiful for a peaceful walk as it is for a day on the slopes. 📍 Beyond the slopes – Head out on a husky safari, meet reindeer or explore the Arctic wilderness on snowshoes or a snowmobile. 📍 Northern Lights – On clear nights, look up for the chance to see the aurora dancing across the sky away from the brighter lights of the resort. 📍 Winter stays – Think cosy cabins, warming up in a sauna and settling in after a full day exploring the snow-covered landscape. 📍 Exploring Kuusamo – Venture beyond Ruka to discover frozen lakes, national parks and some of Finland’s most beautiful winter scenery. We’ll be very happy when Lapland looks like this again 🤍 📽️ @miryammiii 📍Ruka Ski Resort, Kuusamo, Finland
We’re not wishing time away, but we do want this 🥹 Ruka in Finnish Lapland is already making us want to fast-forward to winter. Snow-covered forests, frozen lakes and some seriously beautiful Arctic scenery make this one of those places that feels completely different once the snow arrives. 📍 Winter landscapes – Ruka is surrounded by forests and fells that are covered in snow for much of the season, making even a simple walk feel like you’re properly in Lapland. 📍 Arctic adventures – Go beyond skiing with husky rides, reindeer experiences, snowshoeing and snowmobile trips through the surrounding wilderness. 📍 Northern Lights – Ruka is in a great location for chasing the aurora, especially on clear nights away from the lights of the resort. 📍 Cosy stays – After a day outside, retreat to a cabin, sauna or one of the many cosy spots around the resort and warm up properly. 📍 Kuusamo – The surrounding area is home to frozen lakes, national parks and some of Finland’s most beautiful wilderness, so there’s plenty to explore beyond the resort itself. Ruka might just be the winter escape we’re already looking forward to ❄️ 📽️ @miryammiii 📍Ruka Ski Resort, Kuusamo, Finland
China after dark deserves its own itinerary. Shanghai’s skyline reflected in the river, Wangxian Valley glowing beneath the cliffs, and Chongqing’s buildings stacked high above streets full of neon. It’s worth leaving time to see these places twice, once during the day and again when the lights come on. Spend an evening walking along the Bund in Shanghai, follow the illuminated paths through Wangxian Valley, or head to Hongya Cave in Chongqing for its layers of glowing balconies. Keep a few evenings free rather than filling every day with early starts. Some of the views worth travelling for come after sunset. 📽️ Beautiful Destinations Original 📍 China
12 weeks can change a lot… When the Beautiful Destinations Academy started, our creators came from all different backgrounds and at different stages of their work. Over the 12 weeks, they had the chance to shoot in new environments, try completely different approaches and figure out the kind of stories they actually wanted to tell. A big part of the experience was simply working alongside each other. Everyone brought something different to the group, and seeing how each person approached the same places and experiences made this cohort so special. It’s been incredible seeing the difference between the work they created at the beginning and where they ended up by the end of those 12 weeks. Want to be part of the next Academy? Applications for 2027 open soon. Keep an eye here for details! @jimmlin @julianstollmeier @renataresc @miradewinter #BDAcademy @visit.dubai
We found one of the most peaceful places on Earth, and it wasn’t just one place, it was an entire journey 🇧🇷 Welcome to Rota das Emoções, the Route of Emotions, an extraordinary journey through the wild landscapes of northeastern Brazil. Stretching across Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará, the route connects some of the country’s most surreal natural wonders. Here you can walk barefoot across the endless white dunes of Lençóis Maranhenses, swim in freshwater lagoons hidden between the sand, drift along rivers surrounded by untouched nature and watch scarlet ibis fill the sky over the Parnaíba Delta. Continue towards Ceará and the landscapes change again, from the wild scenery around Camocim to the coastline of Jericoacoara and Prêa. Three states. One incredible journey. And miles upon miles of landscapes that make the rest of the world feel very far away. This is Rota das Emoções. ✨ @sebraece @sebraemaranhao @sebraepi Save this for your future Brazil bucket list 🌞
We think we just found one of the most underrated day trips from London 🚂 Comment ‘travel’ for more of @expedia top destination guides and itineraries! Just 90 minutes away by train, this little city has Roman history, beautiful countryside and incredible English sparkling wine. Searches for stays in Chichester have risen by 30%, according to @expedia, making it one of the world’s fastest-growing travel destinations for 2027. If you’re looking for things to do there, save our list below: 📍Chichester Cathedral — Take a look at the incredible medieval architecture, colourful modern art and the unusual freestanding bell tower outside. 📍The Novium Museum — Discover Chichester’s Roman history and see the remains of an ancient Roman bathhouse beneath the museum. 📍Tinwood Estate — Visit a local Sussex vineyard to try English sparkling wine, surrounded by the beautiful countryside. 📍South Downs National Park — Head out of the city for rolling green hills, countryside walks and beautiful autumn colours, Harting Down is one of our favourites, and don’t forget to visit the famous Halnaker Tree Tunnel, best visited in autumn. 📍Chichester Harbour — If you prefer a waterside walk, explore the harbour for coastal views and a relaxed pace. Whether you spend the day exploring the city or turn it into a countryside weekend break, Chichester is definitely worth adding to your list. @expedia 📍Chichester, England
