Hodge

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share the sad news that our wonderful, amazing, daft as a brush Hodge, the best friend I could have ever wished for, quietly passed away earlier today.

The last few weeks have been extremely difficult whilst we did our best to make him as comfortable as possible, Hodge battled with an extremely aggressive cancer. Sadly, this morning we realised that today was the day.

After lunch we took Hodge to his favourite beach where we played ball and fed him sausage treats. He struggled but he chased his ball and was, I believe, truly happy. Once back home, snug in our living room, a gentle and kind vet helped Hodge, wrapped in his ‘H’ blanket, pass whilst I held him in my arms and Luke and I told him what a good boy he was.

Hodge will forever live in my heart. He saw me through so many defining moments over the past 11 years always knowing when I needed a nudge and a snuggle. He was the most perfect baby-bear to me, Luke, Carlos and so many of our family and friends.

I will be eternally grateful for having had Hodge in my life. He was my my boo, my lil’bear, my everything. Every day the sight of him made me want to be a better person.

He will be missed. xxx
