8 months agoAs someone who is with a trans person, I find how your character is treated on the show really troubling to watch lol. Not even because of the gender itself but also the personality as well. I’m currently watching the series—probably for the sixth time—and I feel very uncomfortable with the way your character is received. It comes across as awkward, elitist, and poorly handled. I genuinely enjoy your character and strongly relate to the sense of ‘awkwardness’ they bring, as well as how others respond around them—sometimes shutting down or behaving in a passive-aggressive way, making it feel like your character is treated as the odd one out.
8 months agoI’m rewatching The L Word, season 6, as a trans man. I first watched the show when I was 17, before coming out as trans. Max’s character is having a baby, and I didn’t realise the first time I watched it what impact this storyline would have on the trans community. ❤️Thank you for coming back. You look amazing by the way. Your scars have healed soo well, it makes me look forward to seeing my chest once my scars are less pink and flattened. X x
a year agoi loved max! it sucks that there were so many failures in the portrayal of his gender-affirming journey. so cool that you're speaking out about it! <3
