![Ibn al-Jawzi (rahimahullah) says:
How could I think highly of my deeds when it was Allah who gave me the ability to perform it?
He (alone) made me see things that He did not let others see (and I would have otherwise not seen myself!)
Did I perform these deeds out of my own goodness or because of His Greatness?
And how can I (ever) thank Allah (even) for His enabling me to (also) give thanks?!
