🖤 We adopted Goober! 🖤

We temp fostered this darling boy for a week over the summer, and as fate would have it, he has come back to us… this time to stay 🥹

We had not planned to adopt again, and Goober had left our home to go to a wonderful foster-to-adopt this summer. But we never stopped thinking of him, and when we heard that his family had made the difficult decision to not go forward with adoption, we found ourselves saying “we will adopt him” without a moment’s hesitation.

In many ways he feels like the yin to Toad’s yang, the deepest black dark side of the moon to Toad’s luminous white light, two unique and beautiful halves of the same whole. We learned he was in need of a home again on the anniversary of Toad’s passing, one year to the day, and we knew it was meant to be.

Goober cannot be around other dogs (the scars on his body and his extreme reactivity to other dogs tell a story of pain and fear), so we are concluding our chapter of fostering. We will never forget each sweet soul that came through our doors. They healed our hearts and helped us find the courage to take the leap of faith that made our family whole again.

Please join us in welcoming Goober home, he is already so loved 🖤

Nick and Charlie looking through their memory book in the epilogue of Heartstopper Forever makes me so emotional. It reminds them how far they’ve come and how much they have yet to look forward to. “Room for more” it’s the perfect end, and a real treat for us fans to go down memory lane with them in this moment.
