Being in the first lockdown cut options for making stuff. While I was sitting at home wondering what’s going to happen to the world and what I can do to keep myself sane, they started to build new houses right in front of my home.
.
Nasty sounds from early mornings through the whole days made me think. Let’s capture this house growing. So I took my #Sonyalpha #a7iv with #1000mm lens and I captured some pics.

This reel examines the decolonisation of Malaya and the formation of Malaysia through the lens of historical materialism, arguing that the 1957 transfer of sovereignty constituted a management buyout rather than genuine liberation. Drawing on Sukarno’s critique of Nekolim, the archival record of the Indonesian Confrontation, and the structural continuities of imperial extraction from rubber to semiconductors, it interrogates whether postcolonial statehood represents a transformation of the system or merely a relocation of its governing mechanisms.

WiFi⬇️

Oh, don’t worry! They’ve done all the research and assured us that the radiofrequency exposure from home WiFi is within perfectly sAfE LiMiTs.

And we all know they’d NEVER let something potentially harmful into our homes! Just take a stroll down the grocery store aisles. All those questionable ingredients? Totally fine because they’re in “safe amounts” too!

😯😂

Anyway, I called my internet provider to ask how to turn off my WiFi. The technician was quick to assure me it was completely safe, but when I asked how to disable it?

“You can’t. It’s built in.”

Funny, because I remember when modems and routers were separate. You could unplug your router, turn off WiFi, and still use a wired internet connection.

Now everything is conveniently combined into one device, and apparently, opting out of WiFi isn’t an option.

They sure seem determined to keep it running!

Wonder why.

But don’t worry, it’s totally safe! Personally, I’ll continue turning mine off when I’m not using it.

I already have my PC connected directly with an ethernet cable, although that cable currently stretches across my hallway. Guests get a warning before walking through 😂

Call me old fashioned, but I like having control over what’s running in my own home. Kind of reminds me of the push for “smart appliances.” I’ll happily take the non-smart version.

Anyone else question why we’re losing the option to turn WiFi off?
