2 weeks ago, I was finally able to reach a major milestone in this Crohn’s journey. Nearly 16 inches of my small and large intestines that have been torturing me for years was finally removed, and I’m living with an ostomy for the next few months. It’s also crazy to look back at myself near the end of 2021. At my lowest, I was 84 pounds. Going into surgery, they wanted me to gain as much weight as possible (the steroids and ensure helped 😂) and I managed to get up to 134. FIFTY FUCKING POUNDS…. HOW?!?? Granted it was over 15 months, but those last 30 came on the last 4 months. My body is constantly changing, but I’m hoping this can lead to a steady/more consistent me.
