🖼 Soir Bleu by Edward Hopper 1914 : A figure painting depicting ironic isolation. “Everybody is separated from everybody else”- Hopper. I love how Hopper kind of translates it into an Everyman setting, in which most people in it, are part of a world of alienated urban entertainment, in which it looks like one is always searching for a meaning somewhere else. Searching for meaning in the clowns costume or the prostitute to his left or the cigarettes in everyone’s mouth. No figure is making eye contact with another figure, perpetually lonely in their own making, looking towards their best distraction.

🖼 Romeo & Juliet by Sergio Cupido 2018: This painting is hard to find on the internet, and if you do the quality isn’t up to par. It really is amazing if you can see it as it’s supposed to be seen. You are more likely to come up on the remakes of this painting specifically in anime or film. This was supposed to be arbour art, the fact that nothing is moving & we can’t tell if the hands are pulling them a part or making them kiss.
