Mayor Zohran Mamdani delivered a speech at a party for the Democrats in New York City on Election Night, pointing to the millions who stood in lines at the polls Tuesday, guided by "the faith that the future need not be defined by the failures of the past."

The mayor was on stage just as AP called the New York governor’s race for Gov. Kathy Hochul. He thanked those who went out to raise awareness and support for the Democrats, and said that they're the reason the party is returning to root principles.

"Those who committed themselves to changing our party, and changing who we put first. Thanks to each of you, and so many others, from Bed-Stuy to Belmont, Coney Island to Cambria Heights, we have begun the work of transforming our party and making it belong to working people once again," Mamdani said.

James Talarico said, “Blessed are the trans children.”
Elon Musk turned that into “Talarico will vote to trans your kids.”

Seriously?

Showing compassion toward transgender children is not the same as advocating for medical interventions, much less forcing them on anyone.

We can have legitimate, evidence-based discussions about pediatric healthcare, parental involvement, and medical decision-making without inventing threats to children.

When one of the wealthiest and most influential people in the world uses his platform to spread this kind of fearmongering, it deserves to be called out.

Children deserve compassion, not to be used as political weapons.
