Yosemite July 2023. This was my first solo trip. I usually go on hiking trips in a group or with a friend or two. It’s nice to have trail companionship, a friend to talk to on a long car ride and someone to share a meal with. I couldn’t find anyone’s schedule who lined up with this week of time I had off. At first I thought about a little staycation in Richmond or going home to visit my family (both of which would have been great options ☺️) but I had a nagging desire to see something new. I’m not sure how I thought of Yosemite but I joined a Yosemite Facebook group and watched a few YouTube vlogs and I said -I GOTTA GO. I booked a room at an Airbnb about an hour outside of the park, got a rental car and researched the best trails to hike. Let me tell ya- it was worth every cent. Yosemite is magic. The waterfalls were raging (and if you know me, you know I love a good waterfall 😍)! The people were kind, the trails were peaceful and the drives were scenic. I was never bored being alone which I was initially nervous about. I ran into plenty of people who I had nice conversations with- some lasted a minute and others lasted an hour. It’s nice to know that being alone doesn’t translate to being lonely. So go on a solo trip- just do it 🤠 #solotravel #hikingadventures #yosemitenationalpark #yosemite
