The podcaster has chosen to issue an apology instead, admitting she should have done more research before giving her opinion on a topic that ultimately sparked controversy. ___________________________________________________ The apology came on The Joe Budden Podcast, where Mona’s co-hosts basically gave her a temperature check on the whole mess. “I apologize,” she said, explaining that she slid into Cardi’s DMs when the rapper first spoke up because she never expected the situation to blow up or upset anybody. “Like her saying that I’m the cause of her being dragged right now, like that sh-t makes me feel horrible,” Mona said. “I wouldn’t want nobody to experience that s—t.” ___________________________________________________ The backlash started when Mona referenced a 13-second clip from a 2024 Instagram Live where she felt Cardi was incorrect about colorism’s role in her success. Mona argued that Cardi’s skin tone had a lot to do with how far she’s gotten. However, the problem, as Mona now admits, is that the clip was a tiny slice of a much longer conversation. “If I knew that that clip was edited, or even if it wasn’t edited, if I knew it was that old, it would have been a total different response from me,” she said. Joe Budden, never one to let a teachable moment pass, called the apology “big” and used it to push a point about accountability, saying he wants her words and actions to line up. A wide swath of Americans — including young voters and political independents — shifted their votes toward the Democrats in the midterms, according to the national results of CNN's Voter Poll. Those demographic changes, coupled with a broad rebuke of President Donald Trump that extended even to deeply red states, help explain the scope of the support that gave Democrats' historic congressional wins this year. The CNN Voter Poll, a successor to previous years' exit polls, combines traditional in-person interviews at polling places on Election Day with tens of thousands of interviews conducted nationwide in the weeks before the election. That scope makes the polls a powerful tool for understanding the demographic profile and political views of voters in this year's election. Even so, the Voter Poll is still a poll, with a margin for error — which means it's most useful when treated as an estimate, rather than a precise measurement. The blue wave was evident in the demographic breakdowns from the national results of the CNN Voter Poll, which show how voters split in their choice of House candidate for their district. Is airline elite status worth it anymore? 👀 It's an age-old question that's back on plenty of minds — especially after two of the four largest U.S. carriers overhauled their loyalty programs this month. (As a reminder, that was United Airlines and Southwest.) One theme is becoming clear: To get the best rewards, members are going to have to spend ... a lot. On one hand, airline status still offers a host of ways to save money, get better seats and travel with more flexible policies. For a lot of travelers, those have become few and far between. ➡️ If not, are you regularly getting free access to your airline's extra-legroom section? If not, you could be a candidate to hop off the status "hamster wheel" and be an airline "free agent." But if you've crunched the numbers and decided status is still worth it, you may need to double down on your favorite airline. 👈 And that might mean prioritizing credit card spending on that carrier's card.
