from my first breath, i was instantly your girl. i was and always will be a daddy’s girl. we were practically inseparable, i was always sitting on your shoulders so i could see everything from a higher perspective, and we can’t forget the endless naps we took together. without you by my side i didn’t feel safe, you gave me a sense of safety and comfort i found from no one else but you. your laughter and smile were contagious. the days where we would be in an argument were my least favorite days, i hated not talking to my best friend. but we’d always solve our problems when you would say “i’m still mad at you,” and i knew you’d be lying cause your eyebrows would raise and give it away. you never could get anything by me and i never could with you either. you always knew when something was wrong, and you’d talk me through it for hours on end. you were the only person that pushed me to be a better athlete because you always said “you have so much potential and i’d hate to see that go to waste,” and although you aren’t here anymore to see me play, i will still always push to be better for you. i desperately wish i could get just one more hug and kiss on the forehead from you. knowing that you decided to save other people through donating your organs gives me that sense of comfort knowing you’re still here in this world, somewhere. the thing i will miss most about you dad, is when i’d come home and sit on your lap in your recliner, and fall asleep to the sound of your ticking heartbeat. the sound of your heart will forever be engraved in my head, the sound of your pure and genuine soul. but for now, i’ll just have to wait until i get another chance to give you a big hug and say “i love you infinity a tons and tons, i win.” (even if i said it first he’d always claim he still won because of the bubble that protected him.) i love and miss you so much dad. but from your last breath, you’ll still always be my guy.
- love your initial twin, jt. 🕊️
