STRENGTH RESERVE: One of my favourite topics from my conversation with the JEDI GRANDMASTER OF NEUROSCIENCE @hubermanlab was the concept of STRENGTH RESERVE! 🎙️ Full discussion with Dr Andrew Huberman on Huberman Lab (link in story!) The principle is simple: the stronger you are, the smaller the percentage of your maximum strength required for each swimming stroke. So, theoretically, increasing your weighted pull-up strength could make thousands of repeated strokes relatively less demanding! 🔬 THE SCIENCE: 🇳🇴 Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Aspenes et al., 2009): Found that 11 weeks of combined strength and endurance training improved swimming pulling force and 400m performance. 🇳🇴 Nord University (Fone & van den Tillaar, 2022): A systematic review of 27 studies found that combining strength training with swimming generally improved performance, with gains of approximately 2–2.5% across training methods. Of course, strength must be combined with technique and endurance, but the research supports a simple principle: DON’T JUST TRAIN TO SWIM MORE. TRAIN TO GET STRONGER TOO! 💪

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were one of Hollywood’s most famous couples during the late 1980s and 1990s. The pair met in 1987 at a film screening and quickly developed a romance, marrying in Las Vegas on November 21 that same year. Their wedding celebrations included a lavish ceremony attended by family and friends, with singer Little Richard officiating. Their relationship attracted enormous media attention as both stars became major figures in Hollywood. During their marriage, the couple welcomed three daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. Despite their successful careers and seemingly glamorous family life, their relationship faced challenges, including demanding work schedules and intense public scrutiny. After more than a decade together, Willis and Moore announced their separation in 1998 and finalised their divorce in 2000. What makes their story particularly memorable is the close bond they maintained after their marriage ended. Moore remained friends with Willis and later developed a supportive relationship with his wife, Emma Heming Willis. Following his diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia, Moore has continued to stand by the family, showing that their connection has endured long beyond their romantic relationship. ❤️💍✨ #love #nostalgia #hollywood
