Infosys co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy once applied for a job at Wipro in the late 1970s, but his application was rejected by Azim Premji.Murthy, then a young systems programmer, sought a position at Wipro but was turned down.Following the rejection, Murthy went on to co-found Infosys in 1981 alongside six engineers using ₹10,000 provided by his wife, Sudha Murty.Years later, Azim Premji admitted to Murthy that not hiring him was one of the biggest mistakes of his career, remarking that if Wipro had hired Murthy, Infosys might never have existed to become a major competitor.

I’m deeply saddened about this news. This photo was taken when we played together in Tokyo this past September. He wasn’t looking very well and actually performed his set while seated, but it was incredible, 100% pure “Magic” set. It breaks my heart that this became the final moment with him. As everybody knows, he was the true originator who shaped the blueprint of techno - a format that has since become one of the biggest club music genres in the world. Without him, techno simply wouldn’t exist. When I first started producing, his music had a profound influence on me. I studied his track structures and tones inside out, listening to each of his songs thousands of times. Once I established myself as a professional artist, I had the privilege of playing alongside him around the world as his fellow @randsrecords label mate. We shared stages across Europe - in countries like Belgium and Spain - at DEMF in Detroit, and, of course, many times here in Japan. I first met him back in ’94 in Gent Belgium, when I was invited to a house party at a home of an R&S staff. I remember we were eating a local rabbit stew cooked in Trappist beer when he suddenly asked for ice cream. He was a wonderful mentor who was usually quiet and of few words, but always full of humor whenever he spoke. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest in peace, Juan Atkins.

“What you don’t get is not for you.”  England and Inter Milan footballer @djedspence is the latest cover star of NOTION’s 100th issue.  From grassroots beginnings at Peckham Town FC to starring for England at this year’s World Cup, the England full-back’s journey has been anything but predictable. Carving out a career defined by flair, versatility and a determination to do things his own way, Spence always manages to find his feet whilst maintaining a cool demeanour through football’s trials and tribulations.  For NOTION 100, he reflects on a fresh start back in Italy with Inter Milan, the experiences that have shaped him as a player so far and the importance of staying true to himself.  Get your copy via the link in bio now.   Words @tawandaharris_   Photographer & Creative Director @elliothensford  Creative Director & Executive Producer @maxalan._     Production Company @marvellouslastnight  Production Manager @isaactapiki     NOTION Print & Special Projects Director @kittyrobson  NOTION Senior Creative Producer @oliviaalicew  NOTION Graphic Designer @livi.av  NOTION Videographer @ebengoode     Stylist @elshhyy  Styling Assistant @yodittzegai     Makeup Artist @ffyyoobb     Lighting Director @geornden  2nd Assistant @8035photos     Mural Artist @23teemoney  Construction Manager @saylessstudios.co.uk  Stand in Set Designer & Scenic @p.whitehornart  Carpenter @_reubenrobinson  Carpenter & Art Assistant @sam_uel315     Retoucher @hilucyb  Post Producer @econe_lab     Studio @oppenheimstudios
