October has been lovely. A time of healing, connection, and an amount of pumpkin spice that leaves me wondering if, perhaps, I am not as original as I would like to be. i’ve been filling out The Examined Year and so enjoying it. it led me to create some goals for myself this month that were surprising and refreshing. also in decorating it, i’ve run out of several of my washi rolls i’d been hanging onto since i got them in tokyo three years ago. well worth it ! i went to my niece’s bday party at chuck e. cheese and it made me miss their breadsticks from like 25 years ago. those things were amazing. so i scoured reddit, found a recipe, and tried to recreate them. unfortunately amazon fresh was out of pizza dough so i tried crescent roll dough and turns out, the right dough matters. also i think it was the wrong recipe anyway. photo #14, if you’re wondering. don’t ask why there is so much cerave on the kitchen table. i have sensitive skin and we’d just stocked up and sometimes it feels like a lot to take things all the way to the room they belong in so i’ll just slowly take them from the nearest hard surface to the next nearest hard surface until they eventually get to where they belong…

The most meaningful and memorable moment of my marathon was meeting @coachbennett at mile 22… there are people who have a gift to not only see you but touch your heart ❤️ and soul in a way that’s impossible to describe.. I was hurting and broken by mile 22 both my body and mind and the voice that had guided me through training runs, his podcasts and book spoke to me directly and reminded me why I had stepped up to that start line and why I was going to cross that finish line !! Years from now when I am telling my grandkids about my first marathon Coach B will always be part of my NYC 🗽 marathon story… THANK YOU 🙏 @coachbennett !!! #firstmarathon #nycmarathon #allrunnersarebeautiful #thisisaboutrunningthisisnotaboutrunning
The Filipino is worth fighting for 🇵🇭 For my departure, I am proud to carry to the strength and grace of Filipino women, in a look inspired by a defining moment in our history. A modern take on Filipina empowerment, using yarn threads to create a custom Inabel Bangar fabric, paired with a solihiya-inspired bag. Celebrating Filipino craftsmanship and the women who continue to lead the way. “Remember when we were brave and when we were bold, and we had the courage and the wisdom.
