A World Rowing event in Africa for the first time! Roodeplaat Dam was the venue for World Masters Championships for the last 4 days. By all accounts a huge success. For Rod as well - 3 medals!!!!!

A win for his first race, in the G (65-70y) Single Sculls, then a bronze in the Scull Super Final👊 - Silver to a French rower, Gold to a German👏👏.
His next win was the G Pair with Alan Bentley.

He trained so hard, very focused on the goal. As ever. Bravo💪

This is a sport for life - plenty of octogenarians at the regatta, now there's a category for 86y and over! So clearly I've got a few more years on the water's edge.
