I first met Abdul as a white blimp illuminated by an elusive moon in the vast desert, while he was performing namaz. After he concluded his prayers Abdul walked towards me grinning ear to ear pointing at my camera. In all the Hindi I could gather and universally appreciated waggling of fingers I directed him to stand in a place where he would be highlighted in the headlights of jeeps passing by.
