A second #Halal “Fusion Smoked BBQ” concept from Turkey 🇹🇷 opens today in #Paterson #NJ 🍖 I had a chance to try some lamb at their very first US location in Burbank #IL a few months ago and enjoyed it to my surprise. @meat_moot is a chain which started in Istanbul and has under 20 locations. It follows a similar style of theatrics with a torch 🔥 from the “pit masters” as they are preparing your meal. The Texas BBQ and Turkish fusion is interesting as you wouldn’t expect rice, roasted potatoes and salad with traditional TX BBQ. Additionally, the meal comes with several different sauces 🤯 I’m really just looking for a good spicy BBQ sauce but hey let’s try em’ all to figure out which ones you like! Trying different sauces is like trying different colognes as they can both lead to sensory overload, making it challenging to distinguish between them after a while.

Whether this fusion is your cup of tea will be for you to decide. Let’s just say I would eat traditional #TX #BBQ more frequently. Also it’s not cheap 💵 and not designed to eat by yourself unless you go during lunch time where they offer lunch specials.

I wish them luck and hope they can maintain the consistency as their other locations. “Slow and Low” is the way to go and as long as it’s not dry, I believe they can please some crowds! Unfortunately, this has been a challenge for it’s competitor up the street in Paterson.
