Rosslyn Goes Proença

Throwback to a truly memorable evening in Sumur.
Sand dunes amidst the barren mountains, the Karakoram on our right, a river flowing peacefully by on our left along with the entrance to another valley, a thrilling sunset, barren Mountain View’s, glacial Mountain View’s, different shades of light on the mountains, a bench atop the sand dunes in the middle of the valley and a dog to keep us company.

Our home stay had a dog named Oscar who served as our guide and escorted us from the home stay to the sand dunes about half a kilometre away. He would run ahead of us, stop, turn around and look behind to see that we were still following him, wait till we got close enough and then continued to trot forward sniffing things along the way.
We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves and found a random bench on the sand dunes in the middle of the valley at 10000ft. Oscar would get lost in the sand dunes, but quickly come running back up to check and see if we were still there. Even when he ran into the distance, he’d keep an eye on us to see where we were at. Then occasionally he would charge by our bench and sit next to us for a while, until he set off in exploration again.

We were treated to some fantastic poses by Oscar and a beautiful Himalayan sunset, one of the many things I’ve come to appreciate about these magical mountains.
The last two pictures are from earlier in the day.
