Fall 2015, I entered my senior year at the School of Visual Arts, on my way to graduating with a BFA in Photography. I had spent my previous semester studying abroad in Rome, starting what would end up being a very special body of work. That work landed me in a program of 70 students called the Mentor Program. We were given the chance to list dream people we’d like to work with. I put Gerard’s name down first. Half as a joke, half as “wait, that could really happen.” In December, I received an email that “Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance” would be my mentor. We instantly connected in our first email exchange, as if we had known each other our entire lives. We decided I’d come out to LA and spend a week working on this project together. We talked and talked and talkedddd, for hours. About anything and everything; art, music, film, love, death, and everything in between. Gerard was the first person I explicitly came out to, before family and close friends. I felt comfortable and safe to be me without having to put up any sort of front. The body of work that came out of that experience landed me a spot at Art Basel in Miami in 2016. Gerard continued to support me even after the program ended, buying a piece of mine, posting about my work, supporting my lil clothing brand @dimarcobrand and still continues to. I was lucky to find out that Gerard is incredibly genuine, intellectual, sensitive, supportive, and everything I hoped he would be since My Chem came into my life at just 8 years old. There was no weirdness between us of fan/frontman, there was just an immediate, straight-up understanding and acceptance of one another. This post is just a glimpse of some of the special moments. The best ones weren’t captured. They weren’t recorded. They weren’t for anyone but me and this man I idolized my entire life, and the friendship we cultivated over the years. I am so grateful that our paths crossed in this lifetime. Somehow, I always knew they would. Endless love to G and Lynz, Frank, Mikey, Ray, and the hardworking My Chem team + crew. They are truly some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and knowing. 🖤
👀☕️ BLAC CHYNA SPEAKS ON FEELING BETRAYED BY TYGA AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY STARTED TALKING TO AN UNDERAGE KYLIE JENNER! 😳💔 Blac Chyna, now known as Angela White, opened up about the betrayal she says she experienced during her relationship with rapper Tyga, revealing that he allegedly began talking to Kylie Jenner while the two were still engaged! According to Chyna, Kylie was around 16 years old at the time. What made the situation even more hurtful was that Chyna had a close friendship with Kylie’s older sister, Kim Kardashian. Chyna claims she found out about Tyga and Kylie through the internet, and things eventually reached a breaking point when Tyga’s friends allegedly packed up her belongings and removed them from his home. She also expressed frustration over receiving backlash when she felt she was the one being betrayed. It’s important to note that Chyna shared these details during a 2023 interview on The Viall Files podcast. 👀 Let’s talk about it! Do y’all think Blac Chyna was unfairly painted as the villain when she was actually the one who got betrayed? And why wasn’t Tyga’s involvement with a teenage Kylie questioned more heavily? Called fake, labelled a witch, and judged in every possible way at the beginning of the season. But when it was time to give it back, Kanika chose to respond in the most beautiful way possible with love, warmth and togetherness. ❤️ Because that’s who she truly is, someone who knows how to win hearts without even trying. And that little actress in her? She never disappoints! The way she owned the moment was nothing short of a showstopper. ✨💯 #kanikamann #teamkanikamann #biggboss20 #haryanakimann #kanikaskrew
