A special moment, revising the world of @thetreeofwar during Saturday’s concert…with my old pal and (now) long time collaborator @alexcosgriff
A little over ten years to the day we first worked on a show together…then young, fresh-faced and finding our love for theatre…we dusted off IN THESE FIELDS in the very room it was first performed. We’re now somewhat older, somewhat less fresh-faced, but fortunate to call this mad world our career.
The Tree Of War is mine and @revrachelmann ‘s take on two boys’ journey from Manchester to the trenches of WW1 , the people they meet along the way and the people they become. Very proud to call it my debut show. The roots are strong and, who knows, maybe there’s life in the old tree yet…
Meanwhile, mine and Alex’s journey has taken us from the fields to the mountains, and so excited to have him as Co-producer and Assistant Director on @malloryandthemountain at Storyhouse, October 19th . The 2015 revised production of Tree also marked the first collab with @joehclayton and @emily.humphrys , sowing the seeds for what would become @imaginalityproductions
You can listen to THE TREE OF WAR on all good (and evil) streaming services
