5! Years of living in the body that belongs to me 💖 five years of little to no dysphoria, of constantly having a job, functioning as a good member of society 💅 5 years of generally having joy in my life to an extent I never in my wildest dreams could have ever imagined 💯 5 years of waking up and seeing myself and my body and getting a huge smile on my face 😍 5 years of true sense of self, a self confidence (I didn't even know how that feels like until I experienced it) 💕 gender affirming care and surgeries save lifes 🏳️‍⚧️ Yes, I had my bottom surgery and other adjustments. But I paid for it, with my hard earned money and taxes. The life I lead before transition - I am so glad that I forgot how it felt like 🥰 #trans #lgbtpride #grs #beauty #transition
October is a month I’ll look back on with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. This month has brought joy and pain, some physical for me (Maggie in the marsh and oyster cuts as a result, massive burns from stupid curling irons and leash tangles causing wrist tears) and some emotional (standing over my mom watching her body try to fight a 105.6 fever is something that will haunt me until the day that I die). But, we lived to see November. We literally thrived and then just survived this month. And the longer I’m on this earth the more that I find I’m a student of that rhythm. We all are. If I’ve learned nothing else, and if I could pass on only one lesson from these 46 years on the planet, let it be this. No matter how good you’ve got it or how bad your life feels right now, nothing lasts forever. It never gets easier and stays easier. Happiness is truly found in navigating both periods of your life with grace, as much grace as you can muster, for yourself and those around you. That’s something I’m still working on. And, to be completely honest, I’m crap at it but I’m trying. This was October… (Never been happier to hear Mariah Carey at midnight on November 1st).
good morning🌻🌻
