Green and pink bands of light paint the sky like upward brush strokes. Behind the aurora, stars are visible and the tops of trees peek out from the bottom of the frame

Looking straight up at the sky, the aurora bends and undulates toward a central point. The sky is mostly green with a cluster of red near the centre.

Obligatory after work aurora pictures! It's cool that the aurora has been visible in so many places recently. I've been working out in the boonies where there's little light pollution which makes for a pretty great view.

Despite Russia being legally ruled to be allowed back into IIHF play, all countries around the IIHF are making it clear that they're not welcome in their country.

Canada hosts the 2027 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship, and the Canadian government "strongly opposes" the ruling of allowing Russia back in, and it's believed that they will refuse them visas.

Finland hosts the 2028 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship, and Finland's Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen confirmed that as long as the war of aggression against Ukraine continues, Russian athletes will not be welcome in Turku & Tampere for the tournament.

It's unknown if Germany will take a stand against Russia, as the Germans host the 2027 IIHF Men's World Championship.
