Lyres For Hire

Been super busy with life recently, and haven't felt especially creative. If anybody cares or has wondered. Started a new job, parents moved in with us, been feeling down, you know how it goes. Anywho - Shadowdark has really been inspiring me lately, so I figured I'd make some idioms for that setting, just to dip my toes back.

I love the gritty OSR vibe of the setting, and the faster-paced gameplay that it offers. The game is so simple to teach and run, and there are lots of nice little quality of life mechanics because Kelsey Dionne over at the Arcane Library is a (figuratively) literal wizard of efficient and aesthetic game design.

If I'm making idioms for Shadowdark settings, I have to start with Dwarves - the objectively best species in all of fantasy (Don't @ me). To better match the vibe of Shadowdark, I am settling for a tone that smuggles whimsy under a thick blanket of broody goodness.
