I can never really come up with a good caption for my photos— climbing being my primary form of self-expression, it can be hard to put some things into words. Feeling really grateful for friends that have my best interest in mind, and who are willing to help me learn to better navigate adulthood.
Shit gets tricky, and existence is really hard to cope with—for everyone. And that’s why every person deserves a certain base level of respect, everyone you meet is just trying their best with what they have, their resources, their upbringing, their mortal flesh— it’s all hard to wrap your head around. Life is insufferably long but way too short at the same time.
Trying not to go too numb, to get too complacent. Time goes on and you lose that feeling of being alive, your sense of time compresses into itself, because as you get older, every year feels that much shorter, feels that less significant. You settle down somewhere and all of the sudden you realize you’ve pigeonholed yourself with obligations, material things, relationships. You’ve committed yourself, your time—but this is the price you pay for non-transient relationships, a sense of community, and the luxuries that come with having a solid home-base somewhere.
Just trying not to let life pass me by these days, and remembering my aspirations, trying to stick to my principles, even as time tries to wear me down.
