Tytan and Notty, paying their morning respects to Maxwell! Tytan spent a bit more time with his elder, perhaps wondering how a little black rhino like him grows to be so stately and impressive. Because Max is blind, he has a forever home with us. Letting him roam free would be incredibly risky — Nairobi National Park is home to many wild black rhinos, who wouldn’t take kindly to a competitor lumbering into their territory. Instead, Max has his own spacious-and-secure grounds to lord over. Black rhinos are as solitary as they are territorial, so this arrangement suits him well. He enjoys his morning visitors, Keepers, and the wild warthogs who filter through, but is otherwise very content with his own company. Because young Tyran will eventually be rewilded, we wouldn’t want to encourage or facilitate an overfamiliar relationship between the pair, as that wouldn’t serve him in his wild life. But for now, these little tête-à-têtes do no harm. (Notty the zebra, meanwhile, is just along for the ride!) — At 20 years old, Maxwell is the oldest orphaned rhino in our care. Because he is blind and couldn’t survive in the wild, he has a forever home with us. Read more about Max and support him through an adoption: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/maxwell At just 21 months old, Tytan is the youngest rhino on our care. His mother died in a tragic accident, leaving him orphaned. In his victory speech, Democrat Abdul El-Sayed addressed Vice President JD Vance, saying, "There is this delicious irony in the fact that you're constitutionally obligated to swear me in in January." Vance, a top contender for the 2028 presidential nomination should he decide to run, issued a lengthy X post, squaring the blame on the Republicans' heavy loss in the midterms on the Iran conflict. For months, Vance and El-Sayed have traded barbs on the campaign trail. Read more at the link in our bio.
The Batmobile reportedly had a very real victim on the set of The Batman Part II 🦇🚗 According to The Sun, filming on Matt Reeves’ sequel was halted earlier in October after an unnamed cast member was struck by the Batmobile during a dramatic action scene. The person was reportedly taken to the hospital and is now recovering at home. It was the second stoppage in a rough month for the production. Filming had already paused when Reeves stepped away to deal with a family matter, with Steven Soderbergh coming aboard to help finish the final weeks of shooting. The good news: cameras are rolling again at Leavesden Studios, and the film is still set to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
