LUCITO

Phase II of the Hull Rust Mine Overlook and Park as photographed by @peterjsieger a couple of months ago. LUCITO has been working on the Hull Rust Mine project together with the City of Hibbing since 2016 and we are delighted to finally begin sharing.

Phase II of the project comprises a pair of 2-season building structures serving as a visitors’ center. These buildings are perched on the north side of the Upper Park affording views to the active mine beyond. Like the distributed concrete landscape elements of Phase I, these building structures act as framing devices to the vistas beyond in addition to their primary function as a visitor center. Adjacent to the main building resides a slender and focused maps, mining, and geology space.
