It can take years, sometimes decades, to learn to tell the truth.
Not in the sense of lying about random things, but in speaking YOUR truth. 🧡

Saying what you really feel. What you actually think. Asking for what you need.

We spend so much time hiding behind what we think others want to hear, afraid they might not like us if we say what’s really going on inside.

The fear of not being accepted is so real that we bury ourselves, pretending everything’s fine, staying silent when the words are right there.

When you start saying the things you’ve been holding back, you stop shrinking.
It’s scary, no doubt.

People may not always respond the way you hope, but telling your truth is what frees you.

It’s how you reclaim your life, even if it takes longer than you expected to get there.

Her realization that her programming was not that just of a scared child trying to make herself feel safe being pleasing others - it’s the result of too many years of misogyny and patriarchy.
