Fairuz (born Nouhad Wadie Haddad) is an iconic Lebanese singer, widely regarded as one of the greatest vocalists in the Arab world. Born in Beirut in November 20 1934, she rose from a modest radio chorus singer in the 1940s to an international superstar, bridging Eastern and Western musical traditions. Throughout the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990), Fairuz continued to tour globally but notably refused to perform within Lebanon to avoid appearing biased. Her unifying voice transcended sectarian lines, and her songs of peace and love became an anchor for the Lebanese people. She has recorded nearly 1,500 songs, performed in 20 musicals, and starred in major musical films (like Safar Barlik). She has performed at iconic international venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London and Carnegie Hall in New York.
