Don’t these two words sound very uplifting?

Loyalty is one of those qualities that is near and dear to me. However, it’s also one of those qualities that presents a challenge, especially in this day and age. Why, you ask? Well, because loyalty clashes with self-interest.

It’s an expression that could also be rendered “loyal love,” which implies not only being faithful in a relationship but also showing kindness and mercy to another person, going beyond the rule of law. It is kindness that lovingly attaches itself to an object until its purpose in connection with that object is realized. Such is the sort of kindness that God expresses toward us! What’s remarkable about that is God, the Almighty creator of the universe who allows us to be breathing at this moment, is supremely loyal to us puny, imperfect humans despite knowing every detail about us - seeing all our imperfections through and through, and yet he still has that unbreakably committed love wrapped tightly around us with a deep attachment to us that never quits. That is why he’s always eager to forgive us repeatedly despite the gravity of our faults.

Aren’t you motivated to develop that same quality of loyalty?
