Meta's Muse—which comes with a cuddly avatar—was designed by the company to be beginner-friendly, and to win over people unfamiliar with AI. “Muse is built for moms,” Alexandr Wang, Meta’s chief AI officer, posted on X in September. Meta is also aggressively marketing Muse to Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp users. And it's working: many older users who may have only had glancing interactions with AI have become avid users. But Muse is also raising major concerns from privacy experts. Technology correspondent Andrew Chow spoke wtih Muse users and experts about how Muse is being used and the risks for AI, Explained by Humans. Read the full story at the link in bio.
Aber Kawas just became the first Palestinian American elected to the New York State Senate. She won big. This is the same woman shown in 2016 footage at an Al-Quds Day rally holding up a green Hamas headband. Al-Quds Day is an annual event started by the Islamic Republic of Iran focused on opposing Israel, and the New York rally included chants of “America is not our friend.” The same woman who said 9/11 was one piece of a long history of American capitalism, racism, white supremacy, and Islamophobia, and that Muslims shouldn’t have to apologize for it. The same woman who helped launch campaigns to cut New York money tied to Israel and posted “We made history” with a Palestinian flag after winning. She still got elected. Overwhelmingly. This is what the 2026 midterms delivered. Candidates with open anti-Israel records and footage involving Hamas symbolism walked into office while voters looked the other way. America is in trouble when this becomes normal. When symbols tied to a designated terrorist group and statements that downplay the worst attack on U.S. soil don’t disqualify anyone. When the people cheering “history” are the ones who spent years opposing the one democracy in the Middle East. Wake up. 🇺🇸
