Last night thousands of superfans from all over the world swarmed the Greek Theatre to watch my movie UHF on the big screen with live music accompaniment from my band and a full symphony orchestra. Afterwards our friend Jonah Ray conducted a Q&A on stage with me, director Jay Levey, and the score’s composer and conductor John Du Prez – and then brought out our surprise special guests: cast members Fran Drescher, David Bowe, Emo Philips, Gedde Watanabe, Lisa Stefanic, and Victoria Jackson! There was even a live-on-stage reenactment of “Wheel of Fish”! Many thanks to everyone who braved the pouring rain for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. My thoughts are with all of Ciara’s loved ones❤️

AR Rahman has given a Steve Jobs-inspired response to online criticism over his Ramayana soundtrack. Comparing nuanced tunes to ageing pickle, he urged fans to be patient and trust the artistic process.
