Hey there, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Belle Stewart, an Australian living in Southern California. I'm a surface pattern designer specializing in heritage-inspired florals for wallpaper and fabric in the traditional home décor market. I create stylized hand-drawn florals that I scan and redraw in Adobe Illustrator and also like to work in Affinity Designer on my iPad. My work is historically inspired, drawing from nature and my childhood growing up on a farm in Australia.
I grew up in a four-generation farmhouse in New South Wales, and memories of decorating with my mother and sister deeply influence my design aesthetic today. I focus on honoring craft traditions while creating designs that feel both historical and fresh for today's homes.
My Spoonflower store is now live with two collections; the Courtyard Garden Collection, inspired by the gardens of San Juan Capistrano Mission, and the Geranium Bloom Collection, a soft and romantic spring palette of dusty periwinkle, rose parchment and botanical greens. Both are available as fabric and wallpaper. I also work towards licensing with wallpaper and fabric manufacturers who serve customers seeking authentic, lasting design.
In addition to my surface pattern work, I exhibit my father's Australian artwork
@donpearcefineart in the United States, where I sell prints and cards of both our designs.
Thank you to this wonderful community for all the encouragement and support!
