The Hunger Games just made an eerie appearance during America’s Election Night. 📺

As millions of Americans tuned in for election coverage, a surprising broadcast from the world of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping made its way onto screens across both FOX News and CNN. The television spot features Ralph Fiennes as President Snow, bringing the unsettling imagery and propaganda of Panem into the middle of a real American election night.

Thousands of people from Meitei, Naga and other indigenous communities took to the streets across Imphal, Senapati and Chandel on October 31, demanding government accountability amid continuing unrest in Manipur. The rallies were organised by civil society groups, with protesters calling for the scrapping of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with Kuki militant groups.

The protesters also demanded the withdrawal of Assam Rifles from conflict-affected areas, the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) using 1951 as the base year, and the safe resettlement of internally displaced families. Organisers accused the authorities of failing to protect indigenous communities and restore lasting peace.

At a public convention in Imphal, the rally adopted resolutions demanding the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, warning that the state government should resign if the demand was not met. The demonstrations come amid renewed tensions in a state that has been grappling with ethnic violence since May 2023.

Amin!

I will be loving u till we’re 70 😌♥️
