President Trump told The New York Times that he was “absolutely willing” to accept the results of the midterm elections. He blamed Republican losses on the fact that he was not on the ballot, and called his decision to go to war with Iran a “very wise decision.”

At the link in our bio, learn more about what he told Tyler Pager and Erica L. Green, our White House correspondents.

SPREAD A LITTLE HOPE & LOVE.

NEVER FORGET PT. 2 🤭

Some guys have been working unpaid internships in women’s DMs longer than most people stay at actual jobs. No salary, no benefits, no acknowledgment from management, and absolutely zero indication that a full-time position will ever become available. Yet every morning, these dedicated employees clock in with another compliment, another fire emoji, and an inspiring level of optimism. At this point, they’re not even pursuing a relationship. They’re accumulating work experience. Eighteen months of perfect attendance and the hiring manager still hasn’t opened their application. LinkedIn should let them put this under professional experience.

STARRING NICOLAS CAGE ❤️‍🔥 Now playing on the Criterion Channel!

Pioneer of a style of acting he calls “nouveau shamanic,” Cage stretches the boundaries of screen performance to their limits, pursuing a heightened, kabuki-like expressionism that is instinctive, abstract, and thrillingly unpredictable. That he has deployed this approach across offbeat independent projects and major Hollywood blockbusters alike makes him a truly one-of-a-kind star: the leading man as wild man, a force so galvanic that, even when working with major directors like Spike Jonze (ADAPTATION.), David Lynch (WILD AT HEART), Werner Herzog (BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS), and Martin Scorsese (BRINGING OUT THE DEAD), he often emerges as the film’s co-auteur, reshaping its texture through his live-wire physicality and risk-taking choices few other actors would dare attempt.

Big Apple Bombshell🍎

💡 Interesting Fact:

If you grew up riding in the backseat on late-night drives, that deep orange glow over every street was low-pressure sodium lighting, and it had a strange side effect. These lamps give off almost a single wavelength of light, around 589 nanometers, so your eyes can’t separate colors under them. Red cars, green grass and blue jackets all faded into shades of orange and black. That’s why the nights of your childhood felt like a warm, dreamy, slightly unreal movie scene.

Cities have been swapping them for LED streetlights for years because LEDs can cut energy use by 50 to 70 percent and last far longer. The tradeoff is that the cooler, whiter light brings back full color but also brings more blue light, which astronomers and wildlife researchers say can be harder on night skies, insects and sleep cycles. So the orange glow that quietly disappeared from so many roads wasn’t just a different color of light. It was a whole different way of seeing the night, and a lot of people never noticed it was gone until it was.
