French roll and b roll maxing 🍂🍁
Early morning ☀️☀️☀️☀️
For nearly 20 years, California has drawn a line between subsidizing pay for people in front of the camera and the workforce behind it. Its refusal to offset a production’s salary for, say, Tom Cruise, has made it an outlier among the 39 states that offer production incentives and is probably the biggest reason why it’s losing its grip as the filming capital of the world. The idiosyncrasy to California’s film and TV tax credit program has been leveraged by competing states and foreign countries to coax productions into leaving. Now, Gov. Gavin Newsom is trying to fight back. On Monday, Newsom announced another major expansion to the program that, if passed, would increase the annual credit from $750 million to $1 billion and allow a portion of pay for actors, directors and producers to qualify, among other changes. At the link in bio, THR's Winston Cho and Katie Kilkenny dive into whether including above-the-line costs in incentives for shows like HBO Max's 'The Pitt' could lure more productions back to Hollywood.

The Next Breath is here 📖 @penguinrandomhouse @eburybooks - available to pre-order now via the link in my bio 🙏 I am still wrapping my head around the fact that this is real, but I’m incredibly excited and proud to announce that my first book, The Next Breath is available to order now. This is the culmination of the past 10 years of my life and 7 years of my work. My mission is to return breath to its rightful place as sacred in society, and I hope this book can play a small role in that bigger plan. The Next Breath is a roadmap. It explores the challenges we face today, how the breath can lead us back to ourselves, and in doing so, how it can reveal a connection to each other, to nature, to the world around us, and to something much greater. Thank you to everyone who’s made this possible, none of this would have happened without you. It’s available to order now and will be in your hands 1st April 2027. Please spread the word! @eburybooks @penguinrandomhouse @penguinukbooks @l.gpowell @drtaraswart
