I walked up thinking the basketball game looked simple enough. My outfit was already set for the day so changing shoes never crossed my mind. The ball went toward the hoop right as my feet slipped out from under me. On the ground I just stayed there for a second wondering why I always pick the tall ones. It reminded me how little things like that still catch me off guard sometimes. Now the memory just makes me smile. #moroccan #🇲🇦 #carnival #heels #dayout #laughing

If you’re stretching your hip flexors, check if you’re making this common mistake. You get into your favorite stretch, usually some kind of lunge, and judge it by the angle between your trunk and thigh, and since it looks deep and feels intense, you assume it’s working. But there’s a piece missing, because between your trunk and thigh sits your pelvis, which moves on its own. If you measure the angle between your pelvis and thigh instead, you’ll often see that the hip isn’t really in extension, so even though you feel tension, it isn’t hitting your hip flexors. Instead, bring your back leg slightly forward to take off some tension and free up your pelvis, and then tuck your pelvis under. That tuck is what creates the hip extension, because when the leg is fixed, you can extend the hip by rotating the pelvis around the head of the femur. If you look at the angles again, you’ll see that even though the leg is less far back, the hip is more extended, which means the stretch is finally targeting what you wanted. Now keep that pelvis position and do your work from there.
